Our Online Backup solution is ideal for all types of businesses as well as personal users, offering a range of benefits over traditional methods of backing up your computer systems:

1. Your data is fully encrypted via online-banking standard encryption algorithms before it is transmitted over the Internet. Neither CTC-Aspire (UK) nor Redstor have access to the encryption key or the unencrypted data, which means your information is totally secure.
2. Your backed-up data is mirrored to two UK-based data centres (in Reading and Slough), minimising the risk that the information might be lost – in practical terms removing the risk altogether.
3. Online Backup eradicates the need for “off-site” backups – removing any risk associated with storing these backups in unsecure, non-protected locations. All backups are “incremental” with the month-end data “rolled up” to provide a snapshot of all the files which have been added or modified during that period.
4. Reduces the need for on-site visits – backups can be configured remotely, as can the hardware/software on the network.
5. All of the above reduces the costs of maintaining your IT systems, at the same time as protecting your investment in hardware, software and data.
6. Additionally, you can restore data from any location in the world via a secure Internet connection if, for example, you lose your laptop while on a business trip and need to access important documents remotely.

How it Works

• Install Redstor Online Backup on your desktop, laptop or server – we will do this for you.
• Configure Online Backup, setting up the backup schedule, selecting the files to backup, setting up a password to limit access to the backup software, with you entering the encryption key – you will need to store a copy of this in a secure location (for example with your bank).
• Perform the first backup – usually this will be a full backup of your system. In the event that you have unusually high data volumes to backup or you have a low-bandwidth Internet connection, we can make this to a USB-drive which can then be couriered to one of our data centres where it will be added to your account.
• Monitor your backups remotely through a secure console, with email notification in the event of a problem such as an incomplete backup (if for example the Internet connection fails) – remember, we will not have access to your unencrypted data.
• All of the above giving you peace of mind.

Backup Options

CTC offers a range of Backup packages to suit different budgets and needs:

1. Total Backup – backup all your data on a daily incremental schedule (recommended).
2. Partial Backup – backup system files and critical files only – omitted certain pre-defined file types or folders (can substantially reduce the volume of data that is backed up).
